What is Refelection, absorption and transmission?

By each product you can see this 3 properties in product details. Each fabric and fabric type have different amount of absorption, transmission and reflection. Reflection

Reflection means how much the fabric can reflect incoming light and reflect back to environment.

Absorption

Absorption means how much the fabric can completely absorb light, which is no longer reflected and no longer passes through the substance.

Transmission

Transmissive means how much light can fabric transmit. In other words, how much light and heat go through the fabric.

COMPARE PRODUCTS
Transparent

A transparent fabric transmits more light and sun heat, ie the transmittance is more than 50%. It is usually able to absorb less light and its values are very low. Reflectivity may vary. You can see through the fabric very easy but it also shade less. It almost doesnt help so much from sun heating.

TRANSPARENT PRODUCTS
Semi-transparent

Semi-transparent transmit less light into the room. This is most used in living rooms where you want to preserve some daylight into the room, but want to be shielded from direct sun light. Some fabrics with semi-transparent have a white or silver backside to increase reflection and help with heat form the sun. It is possible to see through most of these fabrics under different circumstances.

SEMI-TRANSPARENT PRODUCTS
Blackout

Blackout fabrics are fabrics that block the sun from coming into the room. These are often used in bedrooms or rooms where you need to have it as dark as possible. Here it is also possible to choose fabrics with white or silver backing to help reflect the sun and keep the room cooler. Blackout are also a good choice if you don’t want a fabric that can be looked through.
